| | A new secondary school for Streatham Hill and Brixton Hill | |
|
Labour’s already announced plans to build two new schools in Lambeth, in addition to the Government-funded Lambeth Academy that opened in
2004. But with hundreds of local children missing out on a school place near where they live, Lambeth still needs another new secondary school in the centre of the
Borough.
I’m backing plans for the new school, serving children in Brixton Hill, Tulse Hill and Streatham. I’m working with fellow Labour
councillors to identify a site where the school can be built. With several options in the area, the Council needs to find out where the pressure for places is strongest and which
site is best for the new school as well as being affordable within the Council’s very tight finances. But with local parents expecting Labour to deliver, I am determined to find
funding and a site for the new school that local children deserve.
