"I believe in a society where what matters is where you're going to, not where you come from"

Thank you for visiting my website. I was elected Leader of Lambeth Council in May 2006, and I've been a councillor for Brixton Hill Ward since 1998. Find out here about my local campaigns, what the council is up to - and how I'm working to make life better for people right across Lambeth.

Two new articles: listening to young people, and handing power to communities

Progress's 'Real Reform Now' campaign logo

I’ve had a couple of articles published in political pamphlets over the past few weeks.  In one, I argue that we need to engage more closely with young people to understand their needs, stop demonising them, and give them a real voice so we can invest in the services they need to help them get the best start in life.  In the other, I argue for devolving more power to local councils and local communities as a way of ensuring that services offer value for money and meet the needs of local people.

If you’d like to have a look at the articles, please click on the links below.  If you have any comments I'd love to hear from you - please use the feedback box at the bottom of the page.
